Holistic Healing

Crystals are natural rocks that come from Mother Earth.
They vibrate at a very high frequency (5D) as compared to our 3D world. They connect to the seven chakras in our body and thus have the power to heal our physical as well as emotional body.
Crystals work best by body application and can be used in meditation,
-
kept in your purse,
-
under the pillow while sleeping,
-
or in the form of wearable jewelry.
They need to be in your energy field and be allowed to let their magic unfold!
Large natural crystals like Geodes and clusters can be kept at home for constant clearing of the energetic environment.
Shaped ones like spheres, generators, towers are also used in spaces.
For personal use; smaller natural crystals, jewelry, tumbles and spheres would suffice.
Shikha: Since crystals vibrate on a higher plane, they only operate out of love and light.
-
They don’t have any side effects or a negative reaction to them.
-
They can benefit you in wondrous ways.
For example: if you are going through a break-up or your heart needs healing, you must connect with the heart chakra and crystals such as the Rose Quartz, Rhodonite or Kunzite would work well.
These are powerful heart crystals that help to heal the heart and let go of any emotional trauma stuck there.
If you are going through anxiety, then crystals such as Lepidolite, Amethyst work wonders to release anxiety from the body.
The best way to use them is to connect with them by keeping them under your pillow at night as they will work on your auric field and communicate with you through dreams, astral travelling, etc.
Meditate with them, talk to them.
Talking to your crystals is a great way to connect to them as this forms a bond between you and your crystal.
For the house: Bigger chunks like clusters, big raw pieces or Geodes work wonders. Since our houses are big you need bigger crystals to shift the energies of your space.
Crystals such as Black Tourmaline and Selenite are wonderful to keep in the house if you feel there’s a lot of negativity in your space or if there are a lot of fights in your house.
Black Tourmaline releases negativity from spaces and Selenite converts that energy into light consciousness. They create a very powerful protection grid for your space.
Prosperity
Shabnam: Golden Pyrite, Malachite and Citrine are some of the best to invite the energy of prosperity.
Shikha: Citrine, Pyrite, Green Aventurine work wonders as these connect to the solar plexus chakra and are great for abundance, prosperity and bringing more opportunities in your space.
Relationships
Shabnam: Rose Quartz, Rhodochrosite and Rhodonite are some that are known to cultivate love, for others and self, forging strong bonds and calming emotions.
Shikha: Rose Quartz, Kunzite, Rhodonite and Rhodocrosite are great as they heal the heart and help you attract love.
General well-being
Shabnam: Clear Quartz is a master crystal and can give amplify energy levels. Amethyst is another master crystal that can bring rest and relaxation along with heightened awareness.
Shikha: Selenite is good as it protects the aura and creates a shield of light around the body.
Balance, peace of mind for de-stressing and a boost in energy:
Shabnam: Blue Lace Agate for calming negative patterns, Rose Quartz and Amethyst for peace and de-stressing.
Shikha: Lepidolite, Howlite, Carnelian, Jade and Amethyst are good crystals as they balance and heal the emotions and boost creativity and energy.
Crystals for protection
My go-to crystals for creating a protective boundary around both myself and my space are black tourmaline, obsidian, and selenite. The first two are good for connecting with the centre of the earth, creating a feeling of safety and security, while also protecting your auric field. Amethyst connects to your highest and best mind, helping you to own your space.

Black Tourmaline
A powerful healer and protector
A powerful healer and protector. Specifically used for blocking psychic attacks and unhelpful thought patterns, it grounds negative energy and leaves neutrality in its place. (Because of this, it is even said to protect against harmful electromagnetic waves caused by modern electronics such as cell phones and computers.) I carry a piece of black tourmaline in my pocket any time I’m going into a situation that makes me scared or nervous.
Obsidian
A great truth-teller
Also known as volcanic glass, obsidian is made from molten lava that cooled very quickly. By nature, it works fast as a protective shield from negativity. It soaks up bad vibes like a sponge and should therefore be cleansed often. An awesome ceremony for setting an intention for protection could take the form of cleansing your obsidian under running water and visualizing all that negative energy going down the drain and out of your space. Obsidian is a great truth-teller, so it can help you get to the bottom of what’s bringing negativity into your home.

Amethyst
For serenity of the mind
Mystics in the medieval ages used amethyst to treat everything from spider bites to acne. This purple sparkler is widely known and easily available in many different forms. Known for emotional and spiritual protection, amethyst can break anxious or addictive thought patterns and help you move into your higher consciousness. Its high vibration blocks negative, stressful energies and stimulates serenity of the mind. Placing an amethyst on your nightstand or under your pillow will protect you from nightmares.
Crystals for manifesting
Labradorite
This stone is sometimes referred to as the ‘aurora stone’, because when held in light, its blue-green shimmer is reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis, the northern lights. Placing labradorite on your third eye (see page 190) will help you to connect the dots and recognize synchronicities in your life, which will bring you into flow and alignment with the universe. This alignment will help you find your truest path and is crucial for manifesting your dreams into reality.

Smoky Quartz
For organization and pragmatism
This stone’s grounding properties help to bring your desires out of the ethereal plane and into the material world. Once your dreams or ideas are made conscious, smoky quartz can assist in organisation and pragmatism. It is also a very protective crystal, so once you have manifested your intentions, smoky quartz will block any negative energies or influences that may try to get in the way.
Pyrite
For a spark of confidence
I call pyrite the ‘get stuff done’ stone. It’s my all-time favourite because of its manifesting powers. Also known as fool’s gold, pyrite forms in perfect cubes of all sizes and its name comes from pyr, the Greek word for ‘fire’. Think of pyrite as a spark of confidence that connects to your willpower, ambition and persistence. After all, when you’re manifesting you can’t leave all the heavy lifting up to the universe. Pyrite will help you to show up for your higher self and create your own reality.
Crystals for comfort
In the context of comfort, crystals are the perfect way to connect supportive earth energy to our sixth sense of intuition. The crystals I rely on to hold a warm, soothing, positive vibration in my home are carnelian, citrine and tree agate.

Carnelian
For feeling grounded
A wise, young witch once told me I could use carnelian as a candle substitute in spell work, because there is so much fire in this reddish-orange beauty. Which is precisely why I like it for warming up a space energetically. With its swirls of red, orange, and brown, carnelian can wake you up like a spark, yet keep you feeling grounded and safe at the same time. It is going to help you feel comfortable without being lazy or complacent.
Citrine
For welcoming abundance
My go-to rock for good vibes in general. A yellowish-orange type of quartz, citrine sparks creativity and increases your ability to welcome abundance into your life. Like a ray of sunshine, citrine is like a crystal cheerleader, reminding you that you have everything you need. Mix citrine essence in a potion with orange, clove and cinnamon essential oils to make a room spray that will feel like a sunbeam.

Tree Agate
For stabilizing
To balance all that fire and sunshine, throw tree agate into the mix. The key words with this swirly green stone are 'grounding' and 'stabilizing'. It is like kicking off your shoes so as to feel rooted to the earth under your feet, helping you to feel completely supported. For this reason, this one is great for using in an all-natural floor wash too.
How to Cleanse Stones & Jewelry
Whichever healing crystal you choose, be sure to look after it with love, intention and all the light you can muster. This is to be your amulet, your talisman, and your soul's companion no matter what the world must throw at you. Keep your crystal jewelry cleansed and recharged, especially after particularly heavy moments in life. A simple rinse with warm soapy water can be enough to unclog trapped energy. If you want to keep your stones recharged and riding high in their fullest most fabulous power, leave them out in the moonlight, let them have a few minutes of sun, or even place in the rain so that nature can work its magic.
What is Amethyst?
Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz. It is part of the hexagonal crystal system. Amethyst is a semiprecious stone with a vitreous or glassy luster. It often comes in shades of violet and purple. The meaning of Amethyst is spiritual healing, calmness, and wisdom.
Best used for: Protection against fear and feelings of guilt, instilling calmness, alleviating anxiety, and pleasant dreams
Everyone's Favorite Stone
For those who want to know how to use amethyst in healing; this potent and pretty stone is sure to sweep everyone off their feet and leave all those who wear her gorgeously grounded at the same time. Said to be the bridge that connects the concrete with the divine - the meaning of Amethyst has long been synonymous with spirituality and is famed for its close association with both the third eye and the crown chakra.
Tracing the lineage of this luminous stone, ancient civilizations have been celebrating the amethyst crystal since 25,000 BC. From the Greeks to the Romans and even the Egyptians, everyone was drawn to the deep healing powers the amethyst stone emanated.
From the ice blasted corners of Siberia to the sultry rainforests of Brazil, Amethyst can be found across the globe. Amethyst means ‘not intoxicated’ and comes from the ancient Greek word – Amethystos. The Greeks, recognizing the grounding poignancy of the stone, thought they could use the crystal to protect them against intoxication and that wearing amethyst would keep them from falling down drunk.
Ever awash with the magic of mythos, there are tales of Amethyst earning its hue from the blood-red wine tears of Dionysus. The story goes that Amethyst was actually a young virgin who found herself on the receiving edge of the Gods wrath when he was drunk. The young girl cried out to the Goddess Diana for help and the Goddess turned her into a shimmering pale stone. When Dionysus realized his folly, he wept into his wine glass and in his emotion overturned his goblet. The white stone soaked up the wine until it glowed a gentle purple hue.
Gods and Goddesses aside, the Amethyst meaning echoes through. Drunken behavior is often associated with a muddy mind, high emotions and clumsy decisions. As the antidote to this, Amethyst is therefore associated with crystal clear clarity, deep contemplation, and a sense of control over life.
For those who find they are also pulled towards the soft purples and lavender hues of this glowing amulet, let’s delve a little deeper and unravel all the secrets of the amethyst stone so everyone can reap the benefits of bringing beautiful gemstones into their life…
What is Citrine?
Citrine is in the mineral class of quartz. It takes its color from the traces of iron in the quartz and can be anything from pale yellow to bright shades of amber. Citrine tends to have a hexagonal crystal system and in its natural form has a cloudy or smoky look. The meaning of citrine is focused on prosperity, joy, and energy.
The Stone of Summer
The sunshine stone of Citrine is like summer made incarnate. The color of Amalfi Coast lemons, as bright as the midday sun, and with a slight vintage Hollywood vibe, you cannot help but fall hard for the immediate uplifting vibes that sunny Citrine brings to the table. Bright and bustling, this stone is actually a special variety of quartz but comes soaked in a yellow color. Citrine hails from the highlands of Scotland, the flamenco corners of Spain, the tropics of Madagascar, the rich and regal lands of Russia, and the lush green rainforests of Brazil. Perhaps, it's these far-flung places that feed it full of good vibes, or maybe it’s just Mother Nature’s way of reminding us that when life gives you lemons…
Even as far back as 300 BC, the golden gleam of the Citrine crystal was beloved as a bright decorative gem. Ancient Greek and Roman jewelers would use Citrine to adorn rings to be slipped upon important fingers. But even as time ticked on, Citrine never lost its place in being a beloved jewel. Queen Victoria too loved Citrine and used it to make a statement in her 17th-century costumes. Later, in the new era of Hollywood royalty, stars like Greta Garbo would wear Citrine on the red carpet making it an immortal aspect of art deco style. Citrine meaning comes from the word for lemon, and it's that sweet and sharp citron energy that we adore so much.
But beyond being a beauty, there are many reasons to bring the splash of Citrine into your life. The power of positivity, a burst of bright energy, and bringing warm light to frayed nerves, Citrine is like a summer holiday for your soul. Let’s delve a little deeper into the sunny rays and healing properties of Citrine.
Mental & Emotional Healing Properties
It comes as no surprise that the bright and sunny mood of Citrine is all centered around good vibrations, excitations, and not letting go of that personal power. If you ever feel like you have lost your grip, Citrine is here to remind you to simply take it back with a smile. It helps you to crack open your mind, to release those tense feelings of negativity and anger, and to take deep cleansing breaths that help you to overcome muddled feelings of confusion, depression, and destructive tendencies. Citrine teaches you to put down the weight of all those things that no longer make you feel soaked in sunlight inside. Citrine can help you to fight phobias through the gentle flow of healing energy and knowing that no matter what, you are able to take accountability for your own safety and that you simply will not fail.
When you feel the flow of sweet optimism, this helps you to tap into those powers of manifestation. With Citrine on your side, you suddenly feel like anything is possible – and it is! You will feel your sense of self-worth suddenly rocket sky-high, you will allow yourself to drift with the rivers flow rather than feeling like life is one big upstream battle, and you will stay steady on your feet and even be ready and willing to accept criticism with softness and grace.
Metaphysical Properties
Citrine is connected to the Solar Plexus Chakra and the Sacral Chakra, and both these power points in the body sit either in the center or down low. These are elemental chakras that help us to stay grounded and glorious in our own power. The Solar Plexus Chakra is where we garner our warrior strength and stand strong in personal power. If your Solar Plexus Chakra is blocked you may struggle to feel centered and your confidence will sit on shaky ground. This makes it hard to forge boundaries and also may mean that you struggle to keep negative energy out.
The Sacral Chakra is where our passion, creativity and intimacy sits close to our pubic bone. This is also where the well of our joy sits. If your Sacral Chakra is blocked you may feel overwhelmed like you are spinning in a loss of control, and this can lead to feelings of detachment or emotionally checking out.
As Citrine works to bring both these chakras into alignment, you can see it’s a really great tool for those who just need a little extra help staying grounded without feeling ground down. Ward off negative energy, bring your inner strength shimmering to the surface and let the hardships of life roll off like water on a duck's back with this purely positive stone.
If you are looking for other stones that beautifully complement Citrine then be sure to turn to Amethyst with her serene soft vibes. Other stones include Rose Quartz for upping those levels of self-love, Agate for mental strength and clarity, Labradorite for preserving the sanity of the soul, Fluorite for her rainbow moods, and Sunstone for even more golden warmth. Topaz, Smoky Quartz, and Tourmaline are other stones that easily make a great match for the yellow citrine stone.
Best used for: Grounding negative energy, aiding in smoothing family or dynamic group problems, promoting love and happiness, and guarding against those who would break your heart. Also used as an emotional shield against spite and jealousy.
What is Rose Quartz?
Rose Quartz is a pink form of quartz. It is also known as Hyaline Quartz. It has a pale pink coloring and a translucent transparency and a vitreous luster. It also has a hexagonal crystal system and is in the mineral class of quartz. The meaning of Rose Quartz is love and compassion.
The Stunning Rose Quartz Crystal
The blushing hue of Rose Quartz seems to snag everyone’s heartstrings. There is something about this soft and feminine crystal that oozes pure love. It comes as no surprise that the Rose Quartz meaning is that of universal love. Here is a crystal so ripe with healing properties, so drenched in harmony, and so tender that you will always want it close to you, or at least in a place you can turn to time and time again.
The Rose Quartz stone is strongly attached to both the heart chakra and the throat chakra. But it’s not a stone that simply rests in romance. Rose Quartz speaks softly to all kinds of love; from healing communication with family to developing a deeper bond with spouses and friends, and even bringing sweeter notes of self-care into your own world.
Like all the ancient and highly revered stones of the world, Rose Quartz was crafted into precious jewelry by the Assyrians back in 800 BC. Since then, this soft and bright quartz has passed from civilization to civilization; making peace with the Greeks, preventing the signs of aging in the Egyptians, and used as a claim of ownership during Roman times. All believed in the passionate power of the rare and regal Rose Quartz.
Like sunrise after a rainstorm, or spring sunshine filtering across winter snow – the Rose Quartz comes in colors that lend well to the art of romance. Some Rose Quartz crystals can be as pale as a new dawn and others can be almost violet in color. With its softer than silk name, the Rose Quartz can be smoky, cloudy, or as clear as water. Boasting an earthly element and vibrating at the spiritual number of seven, Rose Quartz manages to occupy that space between being a thing of pure mystery while also being a comforting and gloriously grounding force. The ethos of Rose Quartz is to align your tender heart softly yet energetically with true and loving compassion.
Along with working wonders when it comes to soulful healing, Rose Quartz boasts beautiful healing properties for the body too. In keeping with its theme of being a heart healer, Rose Quartz can help to prevent thrombosis and heart attacks, improve the circulatory system, and ensure that your heart muscles are as smooth and strong as possible.

Rose Quartz is said to help protect the mother and unborn child from problems within pregnancy thanks to its deep feminine energy. For new mothers, Rose Quartz is a kindly stone to have close by as it is said to help curate unbreakable bonds and lets the love energy flow like a fountain.
f your heart chakra feels blocked you may experience the signs of unhealthy behavior when it comes to relationships. Maybe you will lean more towards co-dependence, be quick to jealousy, have little trust in yourself or others, and often feel unwilling or unworthy enough to give yourself to the grace of love. One of the most stunning Rose Quartz healing properties is its ability to crack open the heart and put you back in alignment so you feel connected, comforted, and open to all the possibilities that a joyous life can bring.
If you feel you need to learn how to self soothe, to be healed by your own hands, and to uplift your own potential into the goddess sphere, then Rose Quartz is a path that will take you there.
We all know that Venus is the planet most aligned with themes of beauty, love, hedonism, and comforts of the heart. Rose Quartz is a magical match for Taureans as she grants them all this and more, but also goes to work on their more stubborn side. While different shades work with different chakras, the heart and the root chakra tend to be the most connected with Tourmaline. When our heart chakras are blocked we struggle to give and receive love with free authenticity and can become a little shutdown and too ready to shut others out. With a clear heart chakra, we are open and brimming with deep compassion. The root chakra is how we feel safe and steady in this wide wild world. When our root chakra is firm it is like the tree, we are able to invite our branches to grow and bloom in many different directions, all without shaking our foundations.

Clear Quartz is an abundant mineral found in many far-flung corners of the earth, from Arkansas to Brazil and the vanilla cracked shores of Madagascar, this silicon dioxide-rich stone is known for its ability to absorb, store, and regulate the release of energy – exactly what you need to bring you back to a sense of balance.

The clarity of its many faces can spark memory, hone concentration, and bring your whole being back to balance.
